In my own healing, I have discovered the profound practice of Sadhana. Sadhana is a sacred time of tending oneself. It is an integral and foundational part of life; one that western culture has become too busy to honor, or even notice. Just as we have forgotten how to honor our mothers, or even notice the work they are doing.
In Sadhana, we pause. We come to the present moment and we remember to breathe a little bit deeper. We lean into the sensations and wisdom of the body. We are reminded we exist, when in motherhood we often feel like we are losing ourselves.
Every time a mother wraps herself in a beautiful hand stitched robe, she is wrapping herself in warmth, comfort, connection, pleasure, and Love...all things we need for deep healing and integration,
for coming home to our truest nature.
A deep, heartfelt THANK YOU, to Kersten at Lot 3 Mercantile right here in Eau Claire, for allowing me to share Let Love's story, and for enthusiastically saying yes to support in whatever ways she can. A huge piece of Wrapping the Mother in Love is bringing women and families together in our community, amplifying one another's wisdom, and cheering each other on as we grow...together.

The very first Let Love Wrapping the Mother in Love was gifted from Cheryl's own mother, Joan, to Iris who birthed her baby exactly 76 years after Joan was born. It was one of the purest moments of clarity where I could barely hold back my excitement! I immediately called my mother, and we shared in a rare tearful moment of connection. I then immediately called Kersten to sputter off Let Love's newest mission. She immediately put the last robe she had in stock aside for me, which I picked up that very afternoon, with my mother on the phone.
Sharing it with Iris was such a gift as she is a mother so worthy of being wrapped in Love. All mothers are truly worthy of being held, though Iris simply holds a special place in my heart. Having journeyed together through Matrescence after her first Birth, preconception, pregnancy, Birth, and postpartum with her second journey through motherhood...I have had the honor of witnessing her as she is doing the deep and beautiful work of living and mothering with intention, every breath. This entire experience was such a profound beginning to this new wave of Mothers holding Mothers. Thank you, mom , for saying yes to wrapping Iris in Love; and thank you, Iris, for saying yes to receiving.

"The robe is always just there for her, she doesn't need to do anything to receive the love and care, she doesn't need to ask for it."
"The robe reminds mothers they are not alone, that women around the world are weaving this tapestry of Birth and Motherhood together. The hand stitched way the robe comes together by women's hands for women birthing and mothering, and wraps them in a big hug. It's so beautiful."
"The robe will remind her of how bright and beautiful she is every time she sees it and every time she wraps herself in it."
"My beautiful robe has served many purposes in the last day, from a blanket, an arm prop for nursing, a landing spot and connection with my older daughter, and this morning as a hug after a rough night."
